Registration Types

You must be at least 18 years of age (as of 3 August 2008) to be able to register to the XVII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2008). All children/youths under the age of 18 (as of 3 August 2008) must register as accompanying children/accompanying youths.

Regular delegate registration

The registration fee for regular delegates includes entry to all conference sessions, the exhibition hall and poster areas, the opening session, welcome reception and the closing session. If registration and full payment are received on or before 7 May 2008, a conference bag and materials are guaranteed. Registration and payment after 7 May 2008, including on-site registration, does not guarantee a conference bag and materials.

Student/Post-doc/Youth registration 

To qualify for the student/post-doc registration fee, students must present proof of full- time enrolment at a recognized university or college at both the time of registration and during the conference. Students must keep their student ID cards available at all times during the conference. Postgraduate students are also eligible to register under the student registration fee.

The youth registration fee is available to all youths from the age of 18 to 25 (as of 3 August 2008). To qualify for the youth registration fee, youth delegates must present proof of age in the form of an official, state or institute-issued document, providing a photocopy of the passport or one of the following official documents: birth certificate, vaccine report, national photo ID card, or driver’s license. 

The registration fee for students/youths includes entry to all conference sessions, the exhibition hall and poster areas, the opening session, welcome reception and the closing session. It also includes the conference bag and materials if registration and full payment are received on or before 7 May 2008. Registration and payment received after 7 May 2008, including on-site registration, does not guarantee a conference bag and materials.

Accompanying adult/Accompanying child/Accompanying youth registration

A special registration package is available for persons accompanying regular delegates. This package includes access to the opening and closing sessions, the welcome reception and the chosen sightseeing tour. Entry to the exhibition hall, poster area and conference session halls is not included for accompanying adults.

Media registration

Media registration is free of charge. To register as a media representative, proof of accreditation is required.  All credentials will be verified by conference staff and approved before media registration is confirmed. Click here to read more.

Media registration includes entry to the on-site media centre, all conference sessions, the exhibition hall and poster areas, the opening session, welcome reception and the closing session.

Exhibitor registration

Exhibitor registration includes entry to the welcome reception and the exhibition hall. It does not include access to the conference sessions and the opening and closing sessions, nor the conference bag and materials. The number of badges issued is based on the size of the exhibition space ordered.

Group registration

Special conditions apply to group registrations, which refer to registration of ten persons or more. For further information, please contact the AIDS 2008 Registration Department at registration@aids2008.org.
