City Departments

POLICE

The Police Chief and his eighteen officers patrol and protect our City, enforcing State and City laws.  There are also five dispatchers who provide communication, a records clerk and two Animal Control Officers who enforce regulations on keeping animals.

PUBLIC WORKS/ UTILITIES

The Water and Wastewater crews not only maintain the existing lines, but are replacing them with larger, more effective piping, adding new storage tanks and improving the sewage collection system for many more years of essential, healthy service. These crews also pave and maintain City streets, mow right of way and alley areas in town, and work to improve drainage structures.

MUNICIPAL COURT

The Judge and Court Clerk handle cases brought to them by the Police Department, Code Enforcement Officer and others within their jurisdiction.

FIRE

We are fortunate to have one of the best trained and equipped volunteer fire departments in the State.  They protect life and property in our area.

PARKS & RECREATION

The Atascosa River Park and Pleasanton Sports Complex provide several different recreational facilities for our citizens and visitors.   

CODE ENFORCEMENT & INSPECTION

The Building Official reviews plans and inspects all improvements in our City.  The Code Enforcement Officer enforces our codes on health and safety issues, and inspects food establishments.

LIBRARY

Our public library serves thousands of patrons a year, striving to provide needed services such as the Internet, while maintaining an effective selection of materials to meet the needs of our citizens. Visit Pleasanton's Public Library website

MUSEUM

The Longhorn Museum houses one of the best collections on local ranching, railroad and oilfield history, and the exotic animals from around the world that rival much larger museums.
